This late morning maternity session in Erasmuspark was full of soft light, fresh air, and quiet corners that made the perfect backdrop for this growing family. Located in the heart of Amsterdam West, Erasmuspark offers a peaceful setting year-round, with wide paths and hidden spots that feel both intimate and timeless. It’s a favorite of mine for maternity photos—especially on quiet weekend mornings when the light filters gently through the trees.

This couple brought along their sweet bulldog, who was more than happy to join in the portraits. Including pets in your maternity session adds such a personal, joyful touch—after all, they’re part of the family, too. The bulldog waited patiently, occasionally hopping in for a few cuddles and kisses that made everyone laugh. It brought a lovely energy to the whole shoot.

The mom-to-be wore a flowing, neutral dress that moved beautifully with the breeze, creating a soft, natural look that complemented the earthy tones of the park. These maternity portraits captured such a special moment in their lives—calm before the whirlwind of welcoming their baby.

As an Amsterdam maternity photographer, I love helping families create relaxed, beautiful images in parks like this. Whether you’re visiting or living here, a session in Erasmuspark offers both greenery and that unmistakable Amsterdam charm.

If you’re dreaming of natural, light-filled maternity photos with a touch of elegance, Erasmuspark is one of the best locations in the city. And yes—dogs are always welcome.

Amsterdam baby photographer

I’m a wife, mom, artist, and incessant daydreamer. Ill-advised baking challenges are my favorite things to tackle on a Sunday morning, and I truly think pastries are best enjoyed warm, sitting on the floor by the oven.
Seeing and appreciating motherhood for the emotional and physical work it is is the "why" behind Sim Sawyers Photography, and I hope you'll invite me to document yours.
