Always wanted to star in your own romcom? This is like that.

We gave her creative freedom on a couples shoot and she made a simply stunning final product. We were blown away by the quality of the photos and the attention to detail that went into each shot. I'd highly recommend Sim Sawyers to anyone looking for a photographer.

How I work

-When you book with me, I'll walk you through your location options in Amsterdam.

-I also send you a digital guide that goes over everything you need to know about your couple's photoshoot.

-You can send me snapshots of your closet and I can help you put outfits together. I can also send you links to items in your size and budget.

-On session day, I come ready with fun prompts for you to do, so you feel more like you're starring in your own romcom than stiffly posing for a shoot.

-You receive a professionally edited gallery in 1-2 weeks, with 50+ high-resolution images.

frequently asked questions about your couple fotoshoot

How much do your couple photography packages cost?

All of my full packages are €550, and it comes with 1-2 hours of shooting, plus outfit guidance and 50+ retouched images. For the Amsterdam canals, I also have a smaller package for €400 that comes with your choice of 10 images and is 40 mins long.

We are not used to being photographed and may feel awkward.

Everyone does at first, but instead of giving you stiff poses to hold, I give you active prompts to do with your partner, so you are mostly interacting with them. This gets you comfortable easy and I get amazing candids. It's hard to be nervous when you are laughing and enjoying yourself!

Can we include props like bikes or snacks in our couple shoot?

Absolutely! I encourage you to include bicycles or snacks like stroopwafels or coffee. We can also stop in a cafe and get cute cafe shots. In the winter we can also stop at an oliebollen stand.

How soon after the session do we receive our photos?

I usually get your photos back in 1-2 weeks. If it is a special occasion, like a proposal, then I always send back a preview in 24 hours because I know you're both excited!!

Do you photograph couples in other locations in the NL besides Amsterdam?

Yes! I frequently travel to Utrecht, Haarlem, The Hague, Leiden, and more! I do charge a reasonable travel fee depending on the distance and travel time.

What do we wear for our couple photoshoot?

I have a prep guide I will send you that goes over picking your outfits! I can also help you one-on-one, but the main thing is that you don't match your tops and coordinate them instead.

How long does a session usually last?

My sessions generally last 1-2 hours, but I'm not strict on time unless you do my smaller package that is exactly 40 minutes.

We are an interracial couple? Can you accurately expose for both of our skin tones?

This is my favorite question because getting everyone's skin tones is so important to me. My parents have an interracial marriage (I am mixed, Indian and American) and I have an interracial marriage myself. Don't worry about this at all, I will make sure you both are captured perfectly!
