Tucked into the west side of Amsterdam, the Miracle Garden lives up to its name—especially in summer. On this warm afternoon, it became the perfect, peaceful setting for a maternity session filled with light, softness, and quiet anticipation.
We wandered through rows of blooming flowers, pausing where the sun filtered gently through the trees. This mother-to-be glowed with the kind of beauty only a new season of life can bring. She wore a flowing white cotton dress with a smocked white bust, which danced with the breeze and kept her cool. There’s something almost timeless about photographing pregnancy among nature’s own symbols of growth and renewal.
What made this session even more special was how personal it felt. The Miracle Garden isn’t as busy as some of Amsterdam’s better-known parks, making it ideal for relaxed, uninterrupted portraits. We moved at a calm, unhurried pace—allowing space for connection, conversation, and those small, candid moments that often become the favorites.
As an Amsterdam-based maternity photographer, it’s always a joy to find quiet corners like these. Spaces where nature is still and soft, and where a growing family can celebrate their new adventure in beautiful light. Whether you’re expecting your first baby or your fourth, there’s something about stepping into a garden full of blooms that make the moment feel just a little more magical.
If you’re looking for a maternity session that feels effortless and natural—with a little romance and wonder woven in—the Miracle Garden might be your place too.
Now their baby girl is already here! This family has chosen to keep all images of their baby private, which is totally fine by me! You can read more about digital privacy and your little ones here.

More About the Miracle Garden
The Miracle Garden in Erasmuspark is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam. Not only is it so close to my apartment that I know it like the back of my hand. But it’s also so quiet and secluded that it’s perfect for families with small children. They won’t be overwhelmed by city noise or crowds of people staring at them.
The garden blooms with various flowers throughout the year. From fluffy white blossoms to wisteria and tulips to hydrangeas in the summer. If you’re lucky, a few cherry blossoms bloom in the park as well!
