Maternity Photoshoot Amsterdam

Looking for a maternity photoshoot in Amsterdam? When you’re visiting a new city, sometimes you don’t want to carve out two hours for a photoshoot. That’s why I offer a 30 minute session slot, available only in the evenings in this particular location. Photoshoots are €135, 30 minutes, and comes with 20 retouched images delivered in an online gallery.

This Amsterdam Canal photoshoot package is best for maternity, couples, or families with children older than ten years old, as younger children may need a little longer to warm up during a photoshoot. When you book, you will receive a PDF with outfit guidance as well as the specific address of the photoshoot location.

My full photoshoots are €423.50 and can last up to 2 hours, full gallery set at 50+ images, and come with personalized outfit consultations and wall art consultations.

Tips for a scheduling your Amsterdam maternity photoshoot:

Don’t book on the last day of your trip.

If you have a spur of the moment urge to book a session and can schedule it before you leave, absolutely do so! But Amsterdam is notorious for rain, so if you already know you want to book a photoshoot, you should schedule it for earlier in your trip, so if it is pouring rain, you have time to reschedule.

Bring a lightweight dress for photos.

I have a small client closet for full sessions, but if you’re booking a shorter tourist package, then you’ll need bring something from home or shop in Amsterdam!

My tips for choosing outfits:

-Longer skirts look dreamy in photoshoots because they create leading lines and are easier to bend down in if you have toddlers.

-Smocking on the bust is a great idea for maternity sessions because you never know how your chest will be on the day of the session since pregnancy causes all kinds of changes. You will be able to rewear the dress postpartum and after weaning, so win-win!

-Choose texture over patterns. Smaller, contrasting patterns are distracting from your face, but textures will add warmth and depth to your gallery.

-Opt for light colors or neutrals. Some people opt for red because of that gorgeous pop it provides, but the majority of my clients wear neutrals and pastels because it gives you gorgeous skin tones. View another red dress session at the famous Bloesempark here.

Don’t be spooked by drizzling.

I got soaked on the way to this session, and it was still sprinkling when they walked up. But Amsterdam is nothing if not rainy. Thankfully, it stopped during this session, but I’ve had sessions where it didn’t stop before and the only thing to do was to play in the rain and enjoy the full Amsterdam experience.

If it’s absolutely pouring, don’t worry, we can reschedule. You can either retreat to a nearby cafe and wait out the rain, or we can try another day.
