Curious about a family photoshoot Nine Streets of Amsterdam? Read on!

A Soft Rainy Morning in Amsterdam
Summer mornings in Amsterdam have a kind of magic all their own, especially in the charming streets of the Negen Straatjes (Nine Streets). For this family session, the light drizzle added a dreamy softness to the already picturesque canals and cobblestones. It was the kind of weather that wraps around you like a memory: gently, nostalgic, and golden in hindsight.
A Toddler’s Energy and Joy
Despite the light rain, their toddler ran happily between his mum and dad, full of joy and curiosity. The beauty of family photography, especially with young children, is capturing the unscripted. I work in a child-led style, allowing place for play, cuddles, and spontaneous moments that reflect the family’s real connection.
We paused under canal bridges and beside ivy-draped shopfronts, capturing sweet portraits that glowed with warmth. These are the kinds of images that become heirlooms, every smile and glance touched by the character of the Nine Streets.
Why a Family Shoot in the Negen Straatjes?
The Nine Streets are perfect for families that want that classic Amsterdam feel in their shoot: historic buildings, boutique storefronts, and quiet pockets of charm, all within walking distance. Even in a bit of rain, this neighborhood delivers timeless backdrops and lovely soft light. And when we’re finished with the session, you can easily grab a snack in the area.
