Indian Wedding Photography Amsterdam

I’ve grown up watching Indian movies my entire life, with the music, the dancing, the colorful dresses. In fact, these iconic movies with their over-the-top romantic plots influenced how I want my photography to feel. In fact, I was named after an iconic Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol movie. I had saved “I love you, Simran” as my ringtone in high school. My 8 year old signature bob and decision to play basketball stemmed solely from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

But, having grown up abroad, the only Indian weddings I had been to were when I was very young, when my father’s peers were getting married. Enter, my amazing, beautiful, gorgeous cousin, Anisha. She was getting married in India and we were all invited! I, the photographer, of course, took my camera along, but I didn’t want to step on their hired photographer’s toes and I wanted to enjoy their wedding as a guest. I also had two little kids with me.

But, of course, I did get some photos. You can see my official wedding work here!

Upanayana Ceremony

My younger cousin also had a thread ceremony during the wedding weekend! I remember him being such a little kid, and now he’s so big and grown! Ahh, look how cute he is!

If you are having an Indian wedding in Amsterdam, I would LOVE to do your wedding photography! You can check out my wedding page here! Feel free to reach out for a custom quote!

Sim Sawyers

Amsterdam baby photographer

I’m a wife, mom, artist, and incessant daydreamer. Ill-advised baking challenges are my favorite things to tackle on a Sunday morning, and I truly think pastries are best enjoyed warm, sitting on the floor by the oven.
Seeing and appreciating motherhood for the emotional and physical work it is is the "why" behind Sim Sawyers Photography, and I hope you'll invite me to document yours.
