Welcoming a baby into your home is one of the most intimate and beautiful moments I document. This in-home newborn session in Diemen, just outside Amsterdam, was the perfect example of how natural and heartfelt these sessions can be. With soft morning light streaming through their cozy apartment, we captured cuddles, big toddler jumps, tiny yawns, and all the sweet details.

Many new parents worry about having to tidy their whole home for a session, but my approach to in-home newborn photography is effortless and relaxed. I bring a few dresses for you, some outfit options for the kids, and some neutral blankets. You’ll all cuddle up together on the couch or on the bed, and then we follow your baby’s lead, stopping to feed or nurse. The result is timeless, genuine portraits that feel true to you.
Older Siblings at Newborn Sessions
If you have older siblings, I always get some solo-portraits of them as well! It’s a great way to make the newborn shoot more about celebrating the family together than just celebrating the newborn.

I love how this session showed their family’s warmth and closeness. Their baby boy snuggled peacefully in his parents’ arms, while soft textures and neutral tones gave every photo a calm, airy feel. At-home sessions are also wonderful for siblings — big brothers or sisters feel comfortable and free to be themselves. They can go in and out of the photoshoot as they wish. For this session, I brought some honey-rings from AH for their three year old to snack on.
If you’re planning a newborn photoshoot and want something that feels luxurious but easy, an in-home session might be perfect for you. You don’t have to leave your safe space — your baby stays cozy and content, and you get to focus on soaking up the moment.

Newborn Styling
I provide a client closest with dresses for mom and outfits for baby for my sessions. I mostly source these secondhand. For example, the white onesies and the gray diaper cover came from Wollepop, a kid’s consignment shop in my neighborhood! The light blue eyelet dress is also from my client closet and came from Vinted.

Black and White Newborn Images

I always deliver a few black and white images in the gallery, but am happy to deliver more upon request. Black and white newborn images remind me of the wee hours of the morning, when you’re up with baby and the whole house is silent.
