If you’re looking for an intimate venue for a small wedding ceremony, look no further than Het Beroemde Huis, located in Broek in Waterland, just a twenty minute drive from Amsterdam.
I love photographing weddings here because the house is so dreamy. The Vintage Eclectic decor features wooden flooring, large windows and Baroque-inspired murals. The large leather chairs in the sitting room contrast wonderfully with the decadent chandelier in the dining area. The flow-through floor plan allows guests to mingle effortlessly throughout each room, while still having the advantage of quiet conversations in each room. Het Beroemde Huis is in a small town, so it’s very quiet and we could hear the birds singing during the champagne moment.
When you choose this wedding venue, you have access to the second floor, where the bridal party can get dressed. And the upstairs bathroom has great lighting for candid “Getting Ready” images with the bride and her bridesmaids.
The ceremony room and signing room have windows on three walls, so there is ample light for natural light photography and guests can quickly turn their attention to the signatures.
After the ceremony, the dining area features a table large enough for cake and champagne or even a full course meal.
The black and white images from this wedding are absolutely divine because of the textures and patterns in the decor. The design in the windowpanes, the paisleys in the tablecloth, and the brushtrokes in the background on the Baroque-style painted wall are perfection.
